I do want to add though that the second run last year, and the 1 of 1's, never really got explained. I'll try get photos of each colour and put them up before the new venture happens. Til then, rrrrrrrrrewind:
The Melbourne box tee idea kind of started as a joke. Basically Boobs and I were watching a preliminary AFL final being played in Melbourne and saw that the word Melbourne in a semi box logo style had been painted on the ground of the MCG (as they do for coverage of bigger games).
Later that day I was talking to Simon about it and he said he'd noticed too. Somewhere along the line we decide it would be funny to make a tee like the Supreme box saying Melbourne as it wasn't a diss (eg $upreme) or a joking play on Supreme (Supleme) but just gving props to a logo we love for its simplicity and style while representing our home town.
So anyway I did a bit of homework, enlisted the help of Davasawa & James (previously from AER fame) who helped make sure all the dimensions were right, made sure i knew where to get tees from and where to get it screen printed, etc. and told a few friends about it and decided we'd make a few.
I made a post on Sneaker Freaker about the tees and ended up getting alot more orders than expected... ALOT more!
After some initial screen printing troubles we ended up finding a place and made 100, of which 2 tees came back faulty so technically there are 98 of these things going around.
We all ended up really happy with the quality and accuracy of the print (both colour and font wise) and hope that everyone who puts down their hard earned for one is too.
